Types of Desk Beds
Desk beds come in a variety of styles to suit different ages, room sizes, and needs. Each type offers a unique way to combine sleep and study. Here are the most popular options:
- Bunk Beds with Desks: The perfect solution for shared rooms, a bunk bed with a desk provides up to three sleeping spots plus a dedicated work area. They’re a brilliant way to ensure everyone has their own space.
- Mid-Sleeper beds with Desks: Also called cabin beds with desks, they’re usually lower to the ground. They often feature a pull-out desk combined with other clever features, making it a complete bed with a desk and storage system.
- High-Sleeper Beds with Desks: Also known as loft beds with desks, these feature raised sleeping spaces high off the floor, creating a spacious and functional area underneath. This design maximises the room’s vertical space, providing ample room for a full-sized desk and chair.
- Gaming Beds with Desks: Designed for the modern gamer, a gaming bed with a desk is a high-sleeper with specialised features. It includes a large desk area for multiple monitors, shelving for consoles and accessories, and often has a sleek, modern aesthetic.

Desk Bed Materials
Safety and durability are our top priorities, which is why our desk beds are crafted from high-quality materials built to last. A solid wooden bed with a desk is a timeless and popular choice. Often made from sturdy, solid pine or durable engineered wood (MDF), these beds offer fantastic stability and a classic look that suits any décor. Alternatively, a metal desk bed provides a sleek, contemporary, and industrial feel. The lightweight yet incredibly strong metal frames are perfect for creating a modern look and are available in a range of stylish finishes.
Desk Bed Colours
Our collection of desk beds comes in a wide range of colours and finishes to suit every personality and bedroom style. From crisp white and modern grey to bold black and classic natural wood, there’s something to match every room. We also offer vibrant options like pink, red, green, and even multicoloured desk beds, perfect for adding a playful touch or complementing your existing bedroom colour scheme.
What Age is a Desk Bed For?
Desk beds are a space-saving solution for both children and adults, combining sleep and study in one practical design. Teens enjoy the independence of a single bed with a desk, while adults in smaller rooms or studio flats might opt for a small double bed with a desk to save on floor space or for a convenient gaming setup.
The right children’s bed with a desk depends on your child’s age and confidence level. As a safety guideline, top bunks, high-sleepers, and loft beds aren’t recommended for children under six. For ages six and up, a mid-sleeper bed with a desk is low to the ground, easy to climb, and perfect for younger kids transitioning from a toddler bed. Older children and teenagers often prefer high sleepers or loft beds with desks, which offer more height and floor space.
