Are your wooden ottoman beds solid wood?
It depends on the bed. The Emporia Beds Monaco and Charnwood are listed as solid oak, and the Modena is described as solid oak and pine. The SOLACE+CO Taylor beds use wood-effect finishes, with MDF, particle board and poplar LVL listed in the specification. Each product page lists the material, so check it before you buy.
How does the lift work, and is it side lift or end lift?
These beds use a gas-lift ottoman base that raises to reveal the storage space. The Charnwood, for example, is end-opening, and each product description says how that bed opens. If your room is tight at the foot of the bed, browse side lift ottoman beds for beds that open from the side.
What sizes do wooden ottoman beds come in?
Most are available in double (4ft6, 135 × 190cm mattress) and king (5ft, 150 × 200cm mattress), and selected beds come in super king (6ft, 180 × 200cm mattress). The frame is larger than the mattress, so check the dimensions on the product page against your room. What mattress can I use on an ottoman bed?
