What is a bean bag chair?

A bean bag chair is a soft, flexible seat filled with lightweight beads that moulds to your body shape. They’re comfortable, casual, portable, and available in a range of sizes and colours.

What are bean bags filled with?

Our bean bags are filled with EPS (expanded polystyrene) beads. These small, lightweight beads shift and settle as you sit, giving you that signature sink-in feel. They're durable, long-lasting, and hold their shape well over time, making them a reliable choice for everyday use.

Bean bag materials and colours

We stock bean bags in two main materials: teddy fabric, which is soft and cosy for indoor use, and our double-stitched fabric waterproof bean bags, which are built to handle the elements, perfect for lounging outdoors. Both materials come in a range of colours, from popular black and grey bean bags that blend in, to bright pink, blue and green bean bags that add colour to any space.

We offer three sizes to suit different needs:

Our mini bean bag chair (H: 74cm, W: 74cm, L: 71cm, 3kg) is a great pick for younger children, as they’re easy to move around and sized just right for little ones.

The mighty adult bean bag (H: 94cm, W: 99cm, L: 80cm, 5kg) is a popular choice as a larger bean bag chair for teens and adults who want proper support and comfort.

For serious lounging, our large bean bag bed (H: 65cm, W: 80cm, L: 120cm, 8kg) gives you plenty of room to stretch out, ideal as a sunbathing spot or reading seat.

Are your bean bag chairs suitable for outdoor use?

Our outdoor bean bag range, including the bean bag bed, is made from a durable, double-stitched, waterproof bean bag fabric designed to withstand outdoor conditions. Always check the product description before buying, as this will confirm whether a specific style is outdoor-safe. The teddy bean bags are for indoor use only and are not suitable for use outside.

How to wash a bean bag

Most of our bean bag covers can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Some covers with a removable zip can be machine-washed on a gentle, cool cycle, but make sure to check the care label before washing. Never tumble dry. For the waterproof bean bags, simply wipe clean with a damp cloth. Always let the cover dry fully before use and avoid harsh chemicals, as these can damage the fabric.
